Grassy Ridge Fire Public Meeting 8:30 p.m.
A public meeting regarding the Grass Ridge Fire will be held tonight- July 29, 8:30 p.m.- at the Lindy Ross Elementary School cafeteria, Dubois.
Great Basin Team 3 to discuss fire strategy and address concerns from the public. The public and media are encouraged to attend.

The
Job:
- Twin Falls District Fire Management program is looking for 20 applicants to work as support fire fighters for our permanent/seasonal staff.
- Applicants will fill in for fire fighters on an as needed basis.
- The job requires hard work, sleeping on the ground, and being gone up to 30 days at a time.
- Availability is key! This is an on call position, and you can be called upon at any time day or night.
- Each applicant will be evaluated after each assignment. If you are determined to be an asset to our program, continued AD work and consideration for seasonal employment the following season will be an option.
- This is an entry level position.

- Must be a legal United State Citizen.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

SHOOTING CAN CAUSE WILDFIRES
Choose not to shoot on hot, dry and windy days.
Exploding targets, incendiary rounds and tracer ammunition are
illegal on all public lands.
Don’t shoot into rocks or metal objects and place targets in
areas free of vegetation.
Always have water, a shovel and fire extinguisher ready in case a
fire starts.
Clean up all targets

Lagoon Fire
· Located two miles west of Shoshone
· Size: 1,412 acres
· Contain: 7/28/2017, 8:25 p.m.
· Control: 7/30/2017, 8 p.m.
· Resources: six engines, three hand crews, two dozers, two
overhead, one camp crew
· Fuel type: grass, brush
· Fire behavior: none
· Structures: a lumberyard and one outbuilding were burned by
the fire.
· Cause: lightning
Crews are monitoring and mopping up hotspots.
Martin Canyon Fire
· Located three miles east of Bellevue
· Size: 4,024 acres
· Contain: 7/26/2017, 6 p.m.
· Control: 7/30/2017, 6 p.m.
· Resources: one Twin Falls District BLM engines, one Sawtooth National Forest engines, four hand crews, one camp crew, four overhead, one dozer

and remember to always clear the area around your target before taking aim.

· Size: estimated 700 acres
· Contain: undetermined
· Control: undetermined
· Resources: Notch Butte Rangeland Fire Protection Association, five Twin Falls District BLM engines, one Sawtooth National Forest hand crew, one dozer, three overhead, one air attack, several air resources
· Fuel type: grass, brush
· Fire behavior: moderate
· Structures threatened: yes
· Cause: undetermined
The Lagoon Fire was reported last night around midnight. Resources worked through the night, fighting the blaze. Rocky terrain, difficult access and approaching thunderstorms are causing challenging conditions for fire fighters. Additional air and ground resources have been ordered.

· Contain: estimated 7/26/2017, 6 p.m.
· Control: estimated 7/28/2017, 6 p.m.
· Resources: four Twin Falls District BLM engines, two Sawtooth National Forest engines, three dozers, one water tender, four type two hand crews, four type one hand crews, one camp crew, eight overhead, one air attack, four single engine air tankers, three helicopters, two scooper planes
· Fuel type: grass, mountain shrub, Douglas fir, aspen
· Fire behavior: moderate
· Structures threatened: no immediate threat but structures in the area

o Muldoon Canyon Road from the entrance of EE-da-ho Ranch to Muldoon
o Muldoon Canyon Road from the Little Wood Reservoir Dam to Muldoon
o Muldoon Canyon is closed to recreation and camping
· Cause: human - target shooting

Calm winds throughout the night gave fire fighters the upper hand
on the Centennial and Sand Point Fires. Containment lines held and resources
are mopping up hot spots.
MM 271 Fire
- · Located off Interstate 84, near mile marker 271, BLM land
- · Size: 3,522 acres
- · Contain: 6/28/2017 at 8 p.m.
- · Control: 6/30/2017 at 8 p.m.
- · Resources: five engines, five overhead, one dozer
- · Fuel type: grass, brush and juniper
- · Fire behavior: smoldering and creeping
- · No structures threatened
- · Cause: lightning
Resources have stopped the progression of the fire. Crews remain
on scene, improving containment lines, working to mop up hot spots and remove
hazardous juniper trees.
Indian Springs 2 Fire (last update)
- · Located approximately 7 miles south of Kimberly, near Indian Springs Recreation Area
- · Size: 134 acres
- · Contain: 6/27/2017 at midnight
